Real Madrid forward Gareth Bale has said that the club must beat league leaders Barcelona on Saturday to stand a chance of winning La Liga this season.
Speaking in a news conference in Madrid on Wednesday, Bale said that the team is committed to fight for the title saying they wil give their all in the El Clasico on Saturday.
“At the moment it’s very possible. If we win on Saturday we are seven points behind and you never know what can happen, so we will give it 100 percent and try to win the game,” said the Welsh international.
“I think we need to score goals and keep a clean sheet and we win the game, simple as,” the Welshman said.
While admitting the toughness of the game, the prolific striker said the team has improved in its play and are raring to go.
“We know it’s going to be a very difficult game, they are playing very well at the moment, but we have to be 100 percent on Saturday. We have to take the game to them. We have to attack them, we have exploit their weaknesses. We have a game plan, we have tactics to stick by, I think if we perform to our maximum I am very confident we can win,” Bale added.
With 30 matches played, Barcelona stand top of La Liga table with 76 points and are in pole position to defend the title. Real Madrid are third with 66 points, a point behind city rivals Atletico Madrid.
