Vihiga coach Alumira wary of ‘unpredictable’ Nyuki Starlets

Vihiga Queens head coach Alex Alumira is optimistic he will guide his charges to victory when they host second-tier side Nyuki Starlets on Sunday at the Mumias Sports Complex for their FKF Women’s Cup round of 16 clash.

Vihiga thrashed Royal Starlets 3-0 in the first round of the competition at the Kitale Stadium while Nyuki stunned Kenya Women Premier League (KWPL) title contenders Eldoret Falcons 4-1.

“It will be a tough match keeping in mind that Nyuki are well experienced. Last season they were playing in the Premier League before their relegation so they can be a tough side. Defeating Eldoret Falcons in the manner they did tells you how unpredicatble they are; we cannot underrate them,” Alumira told Citizen Digital.

Elsewhere Mukuru Talent Academy, and Sunderland Samba, also won convincingly in the round of 32 and are hoping to maintain the winning streak they face Kayole Starlet and Ulinzi Starlets, respectively.

Bunyore Starlets, who had toil in order to eliminate Nakuru West Queens in post-match penalties, will hope for the win as they will tackle Oserian Ladies.

The winner of the tournament will pocket a million shillings upon the completion of the tournament
