Ulinzi Starlets eye first win of season as Falcons visit
Ulinzi
Starlets will be aiming for their first win of the season when they host Trans
Nzoia Falcons for a Kenyan Women Premier League (KWPL) match at the new Ulinzi
Sports Complex, Nairobi on Saturday.
Ulinzi drew
2-2 against Zetech Sparks in their season opener last weekend at the Gems
Cambridge International School and going to the next fixture they will be
looking for nothing but a win.
Head coach
Joseph Wambua understands it will be no easy task against Falcons who were the only
team to win a game from the league’s first round of matches when they defeated former
champions Thika Queens 2-0.
“Falcons are
among the title favorites because of the talent they have in their squad but we
won’t be scared by that. We have to give it our all. I had problems with our
attack during that first game where we looked shaky but now that’s fixed,”
Wambua said.
Wambua hailed
his only signing of the season, Joy Kinglday Oriyo who was roped in from Zetech
Sparks saying she has started off well in her new side.
“Oriyo is
the only new signing I have in my camp and I am happy for how she played her
debut. She is a very lethal striker who is well known of bullying the opponents
and I am sure she will be a key factor in our agenda of winning the league this
season.”
Other two
matches will be played on Sunday where at GEMS International School, Zetech
Sparks will squire it out with Wadadia while Kisumu All Starlets will lock
horns with Nakuru City Queens.
