Tuyisenge led APR to have a feel of Nyayo ahead of Gor clash

Rwandan football giants APR will on Friday have a feel of the Nyayo National Stadium, ahead of Saturday’s CAF Champions League first round return leg match.

The Rwandese, having in their ranks, amongst others, former Gor Mahia marksman Jacques Tuyisenge, landed into the county on Wednesday night and are putting up at Ole Sereni Hotel where they will pitch camp throughout their stay.

The Rwandese are in the country hoping to accomplish their mission of advancing to the next round of qualifiers. They hold a slim 2-1 advantage over Gor from the first leg.

Meanwhile Gor have intensified their training at their Two Rivers training ground ahead of the do or die match.

They need a simple 1-0 win to advance to the next stage courtesy of the Charles Momanyi away goal advantage.

They will however train at Nyayo National Stadium Friday morning.

Captain Kenneth Muguna is on record saying APR are a good side and that they need strategy to overcome the visitors. He admitted in a past interview that they were beaten fairly in Kigali and there was no reason for any excuse.

‘’They were the better side. We admit we were beaten but we have a plan for the next round. We can’t drop at this stage,’’he said.

Prior to this season’s meeting, the two teams locked horns in 2009 when ARP demolished Gor 6-0 on aggregate in the CAF Confederations match.

In the first leg in Nairobi, the Rwandese soldiers saw the back of Gor Mahia’s net five times and finished the demolition with a solitary goal in Kigali a week later.

With the match being played under closed doors, the ever chanting Gor Mahia fans will not be available this time round to give morale to the record champions.

However some of them have stated that they will camp around the stadium and dance throughout the match even if they will not be allowed in.
