In their last 17 matches they have played, Vihiga
Bullets have only managed a single win against Wazito FC that came on January
9.
Questions about whether they can stage a turnaround
and avoid the chopping board have started sounding louder thanks to them being
in the top tier league for the very first time in their history.
However, the Bullets head coach Abdalla Juma has
warned AFC Leopards to prepare for a fierce battle in the Kenyan Premier League
match at Nyayo Stadium this Sunday.
According to the former Western Stima tactician,
Bullets are much roaring and ready to claw the Leopards despite having last won
a match on January 9th when they beat Wazito 4-1
The team at the basement of the 18-team log standings
has lined up a friendly today against Vihiga Sportif at Kidundu Ground to
measure their sharpness before the big clash ahead.
“For sure we have prepared very well and the boys are
enthusiastic in the camp, they are motivated and thinking of the game against
AFC Leopards.
Today we are playing a friendly match against Vihiga
Sportif to try and see how and where to make amends before we go to Nairobi,”
Juma said.
Bullets managed to beef up their squad and Abdalla is
confident the likes of defender Brian Ochieng from MMUST FC, striker Collins
Jumba from Thika Kings FC and Kakamega Homeboyz trio of goal keeper Felix
Otieno, attacking midfielder Kevin Aroti will cause all the problems to
Leopards.
“Like for the match against AFC Leopards, I will play
three new boys in the squad namely defender Brian, the experienced Aroti who
has played for a long time and also Collins Jumba while the other departments
remain unchanged,” Juma concluded.
They will travel to Nairobi on Friday night and have a
feel of the Nyayo Stadium on Saturday before the Sunday game.
The Vihiga County based side has no goal in their last
three and finds themselves in position 18 with eight points, two behind second
last Mathare United.
Will Abdalla do magic to keep the Bullets in the top
league for their second season in a row after taking over from Evans Mafuta
three months ago?
