Ulinzi Starlets tactician Collins Ochieng is confident that they will get a win against Desert Scorpions when they face off in an FKF Women’s Cup round of 16 fixture slated for Saturday, May 17, at the Ruaraka Stadium in Nairobi.

Ulinzi who are the three time champions advanced to the round of 16 after thrashing TUK Ravens 8-0 in the round of 32 fixture while their opponents Scorpions defeated Embu Queens 3-0.

According to Ochieng, he is keen on winning the title for the fourth time in a row and he feels nothing will stop him in achieving that.

“First I want to congratulate my girls for reaching the round of 16. We are playing Desert Scorpions and we will give them the deserved respect.

“You cannot underrate a team which beat Embu Queens to storm to the round of 16, it means they knew what they are doing.”

“They should also understand that they will be playing against the champions and it will not that easy. We are the champions and we want to ensure we write history by winning it for the fourth time in row,” he said.

Ochieng says, as measure to be at their best, they‘ve been working round the clock to clean- up some of the mistakes witnessed in their game against TUK Ravens.

“In our last match I noted a problem with my wingers and also the striking department was a bit shaky something which I have rectified and we are very ready for Saturday fixture. I thank God because I have no any injuries doubt and my team is intact.”

The soldiers won the 2024 edition after thumping, Kibera Soccer Ladies 2-1 in the final held at Police Sacco Stadium Grounds on July 10, thanks to Sheryl Angachi and Linda Kihara goals.
