Sikuta moves to Canadian club Halifax

Former Kabras RFC captain Dan Sikuta has joined Canadian side Halifax Rugby Club on a four year contract.

Speaking exclusively to Citizen Digital, Sikuta who left Kabras after the expiry of his contract will also have the mandate of coaching Halifax’s youth teams as part of his duties at the club.

“I am humbled with this great opportunity granted to me by the club it is a good progress in my career and I will give my best to the club and for the love of the game,” Sikuta said.

Sikuta, who won two Kenya Cup titles in 2022 and 2023 with Kabras, added he was humbled by the new opportunity and is ready to take on the new challenge.

“Playing and coaching at the same time is great challenge for me that I want to take it positively because I love the game I will give my best in every opportunity that I get to support the club and make the fans happy,” Sikuta stated.

The Kenyan international said he has had to adjust to the climate in Canada especially during winter.

“The weather has been tricky for me but my teammates and friend have really helped me to settle down quickly and having travelled widely with the national team I hope to settle down quickly which aim currently doing.”
