Ruthless Sharks tear apart Murang'a SEAL, Tusker held
Salum
Ally, Keith Imbali and Andreas Odhiambo scored one each as impressive
Kariobangi Sharks sunk Murang'a SEAL 3-0, at the Dandora Stadium on Sunday.
Sharks, coached by Harambee Stars Assistant
Coach William Muluya, were dominant all through, with SEAL struggling to match
their pace and skill.
Speaking after the match, SEAL's Assistant
Coach John Njogu admitted Sharks were indeed the better side, saying their game
plan did not work as anticipated.
"The game was good but it is evident that
Kariobangi Sharks were the better team today. We are however not losing hope
and I believe the next game - which we will play at home, will be ours to lose.
We have to bounce back quickly," said Njogu.
Elsewhere, Tusker FC settled for 2-2 draw with
Kakamega Homeboyz, and a similar score was registered in the Ulinzi Stars -
Shabana FC match. Ulinzi equalised in the 96th minute from the spot to deny
Shabana maximum points.
No chance to
recover
Back at the Dandora Stadium, Salum got a clear
chance in the 17th minute but failed to get the ball past John Mwangi, the
Muranga seals keeper.
Sharks
took the lead in the 29th minute after a well delivered cross from Fredrick
Alushula landed on Salum's path, and made no mistake to put the ball into the
net.
Imbali added the second goal in the 71st
minute after his free-kick shot just outside the box was deflected, leaving the
goalkeeper with no chance to recover.
Seven minutes later, Sharks added the third
after South Sudan winger Paul Jawa dazzled past his two markers before swiftly
finding Odhiambo who sealed the win.
In the 41st minute, Sharks thought they had
won a penalty after Jawa was fouled in the box, but their protests were
ignored.
Kariobangi
Sharks however suffered a blow when captain Timothy Ekhari limped off with only
five minutes on the clock.
