Trans Nzoia Falcons new coach Rachael Cheptot Nanjala has vowed to lift the team back to the Kenya Women Premier League, by winning the Women National Super League set to kick off in early October.

Nanjala was on Tuesday September 17 appointed as the new tactician of the Kitale-based side and she will be assisted by Francis Ojilo.

Speaking to Citizen Digital, Nanjala, a former Falcons and the Royal Starlets player, said her vast experience will be pivotal as they embark on the challenging journey.

“It’s a great challenge for me after handling St. Anthony’s High School for two years. I believe I will steer the girls to win the NSL title next season. It’s also a stepping stone for me to further my career as I’m aiming to pursue a CAFC coaching license soon.

"We kicked off our training three weeks ago and so far so good. We are in the process of recruiting new players because all of the previous players left immediately when the team was relegated from the Premier league last season. I hope we will assemble a strong team and restore the lost glory.”

Falcons were relegated from the 2023/24 Premier League season after failing to show up for their fixtures against Wadadia Women, Bungoma Queens and former Champions, Vihiga Queens.

Coach Justine Okiring  was at the helm when the team was relegated.

“The team now has a new management and under Chairman Boniface Oduor, I believe it will be run well. He is a good man, a sports enthusiast who has promised to give the team his full support,” Nanjala opined.
