The Embu County Boxing Association is gearing up to host the highly anticipated 3rd leg of the National Boxing League at Moi Stadium from September 26 to 28.

This event promises to be a thrilling showcase of Kenya’s top boxing talent, as it draws pugilists and fans from across the country.

The Boxing Federation of Kenya (BFK) Secretary David Munuhe expects a more competitive meet, compared with last two rounds.

"The third leg of the National Boxing League begins today in Embu, and we expect thrilling competition as teams fight for top spots. All the teams are heading to Embu, and all preparations have been done and we are good to go," said Munuhe.

The Kenya Police Boxing Club, famously known as 'Chafua Chafua' have fired a warning shot to their rivals, the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF).

After missing out on the first leg in Kisumu, 'Chafua Chafua' are hungry and determined to climb up the table.

Currently sitting on 26 points, the team is eyeing a significant boost in their tally, hoping to catch up with KDF, who currently dominate with 56 points.

The top four teams in the league - KDF, Chafua Chafua, Prison, and Nairobi County - are all looking to solidify their positions as the league enters this crucial phase.

Prisons, with their well-drilled athletes, and Nairobi County, known for their resilience, are not far behind and could pose a significant challenge to the top two teams.

On the women’s side, Nairobi County currently leads the pack, with their boxers exhibiting a combination of technique and grit that has earned them the top spot so far.

They are closely followed by the Police and KDF women’s teams, both of which are determined to topple Nairobi County's reign.

Nakuru, occupying the fourth spot, is also expected to make a strong push for a better position in the standings.
