Okoth says Vihiga still adapting to NSL life

Vihiga United head coach Sammy Okoth says they are still trying to adapt to life in the National Super League (NSL) following a dismal start to their campaign.

The club that was relegated last season from the top-flight are currently ranked sixth in the NSL having won nine points from their opening five matches.

Okoth, who was brought last season to help Vihiga avoid the drop but ultimately failed in that bid, says their struggles is partly because teams tend to be more competitive playing against them.

“They tend to frustrate us more so in the first half but we try our best to improve in the second half,” Okoth said.

Vihiga released 15 players and recruited ten more who are still learning to coordinate, according to Okoth.

“As time goes by you will begin to see some rhythm in the team and once they become solid we will start registering good results,” the former Zoo FC coach added.

Vihiga will be meet St Joseph Youth in Mumias over the weekend in their next assignment.
