Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) ladies team assistant head coach Samuel Ocholla has hailed the team after registering double wins over the weekend.

The Dockers nailed an 84-38 blowout win over The Swish on Saturday before humbling The Storms 87-44 on Sunday at Makande Gymnasium, Mombasa.

“We played well because we won both games with over 40 points each. It was a good performance and outing for us. I attribute our wins to the time we had in training and the positive attitude we had in training.

Everyone now knows what is expected of them in each position. We are glad that the shots are dropping and generally everyone is playing well,” Ocholla said.

Despite the good run, the soft-spoken tactician believes the best is yet to come from the girls as they gear up for the playoffs.

“So far so good; we are very much prepared, and we are doing well, and we won’t drop our guards.

“We will still work on the few areas that we are not doing well as we perfect the areas we are doing well.

“Come playoffs I believe we will be a totally different team, as our eyes are on the championship with the aim of winning the title,” Ocholla added.

KPA still has three games to go in the regular season against Africa Nazarene University (ANU) Panthers and Strathmore Swords, which will take place at their home court, Makande Gymnasium, and the third game against Zetech Sparks in Nairobi at Nyayo Gymnasium.

The Dockers top the league with 37 points from 19 matches after winning 18 and losing one.

Elsewhere Zetech Sparks head coach Maurice Obilo has admitted that it wasn’t an easy task getting away win in Eldoret in another women’s premier league match

The students defeated Eldonets 70-43 in Eldoret at Uasin Gishu grounds to keep their season ambitions alive.

“We played well to our level best; away games are not easy, but we are glad we managed to get a win.

“Right now all the teams are winding up their regular league games as they position themselves into the playoffs.

“We are doing the same, making sure we are well prepared to start the playoffs.”

Zetech have so far have 34 points after playing 18 games, winning 16 and losing only two, with four games to go.
