Nzoia Sugar set sight on Muhoroni win as team resumes training
National Super League side Nzoia Sugar FC have resumed training after the festivities beak with attention shifting to next weekend’s league match against Muhoroni Youth.
Speaking to
Citizen Digital, club's head coach Charles Odero said that the team is now
laser-focused on preparing for their crucial weekend match against the Nyanza
based side, noting that the players are fully committed to turning around their
fortunes.
The team
concluded the year in 16th place on the league standings, with 13 points from
13 matches, a position they are determined to improve.
"We resumed
training with a clear goal of securing victory in the upcoming match. The
players understand the importance of this game and are working hard to deliver
positive results," said Odero.
To bolster their
preparations, the Bungoma-based outfit has lined up a series of friendly
matches. Odero believes these friendlies are crucial in fine-tuning the team's
tactics and gauging their readiness for the weekend clash.
"Friendly
matches offer us a chance to assess our strengths and identify areas that need
improvement. It's all about sharpening the team and building confidence ahead
of the Muhoroni Youth game," he explained.
Meanwhile, as
the team gears up to face Muhoroni Youth, the stakes are high. Securing a win
could serve as a much-needed morale booster for the team, which has struggled
to find consistency this season.
