Mara Sugar beat Mombasa Elite in NSL tie
Mombasa Elite poor run in National Super League (NSL) has extended this afternoon after they were handed their 15th loss this season - going down 2-0 against Mara Sugar.
Mara Sugar got their goals in a span of 10 minutes in the second half through Erick Juma and Joseph Okwenda.
Mara sugar were first to make an attempt in the fifth minute of the game through Brian Ochieng but his flying header was dogged for a corner kick by Mombasa Elite goalkeeper Richard Ebenyo.
The home side Elite first shot on target came at 20th minutes into the match after their top scorer Emmanuel Lunalo effort was comfortably saved by Mara Sugar goalkeeper Felix Odoyo.
Ten minutes to the end of the game, Mombasa Elite winger Rajab Hassan fired a strong 25 yard free kick but was saved by goalkeeper Odoyo.
Mara Sugar got their first goal in the 52nd minute through Erick Juma who connected with a Michael Isabwa cross ball.
Seven minutes later, Mara side doubled their lead after right fullback Joseph Okwenda connected Woodvine Okoth's cross ball.

Earlier on in Machakos Stadium, League leaders Naivas FC ran riot on another Mombasa NSL based club Mombasa Stars 4 - 1.
