Musonye and his team recently visited Tanzania to inspect some of the stadiums that will be used for the tournament, ensuring that preparations align with those in Kenya and Uganda.
“We are here to assess Tanzania’s organizational progress and ensure uniformity with Uganda and Kenya so that we deliver a seamless CHAN tournament together,” stated Musonye.
He further noted that Kenya's final preparations are minimal, with only tasks such as painting and cleaning remaining at venues like Nyayo and Kasarani stadiums, along with designated training grounds.
“Uganda is in a similar stage, and from what I have seen in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania also has just a few finishing touches left. Whenever CAF gives the green light, Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania will be ready to host the tournament.”
However, earlier this month, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced the postponement of the competition following assessments by its technical and infrastructure experts.
The decision was based on recommendations for additional time to ensure that all facilities meet CAF’s required standards for a successful tournament.
The championship, which is for domestic-based players, was initially set to be held from February 1 to 28.
