The stage is set for the highly anticipated 2025 Kenya Secondary School Sports Association (KSSSA) NationalTerm One Games, as regional champions converge in Mombasa for a week of intense competition.

From April 8th to April 12, Mombasa will be the epicenter of secondary school sports, with Shimo la Tewa Boys High School, Mama Ngina Girls High School, Shanzu Teachers College, and Aga Khan Academy, all playing host to the action-packed games.

With everything in place, the local organisers are primed to deliver an unforgettable experience. McDonald Dzile, the KSSSA Coast General Secretary, assured all participants that Mombasa is ready to roll out the red carpet.

"For basketball, we have four courts set up, rugby is ready with one pitch, handball has four courts, and hockey is set with two courts," Dzile stated. "In short, we’re all set to bring the best of the best from across the nation to one of the most exciting KSSSA Term One Games we’ve seen."

Dzile also welcomed the regional champions, eagerly anticipating fierce competition. "We’re expecting a tough competition this year, with new champions potentially emerging," he said. "I’m particularly excited to see if Dr. Agrey from Taita Taveta can defend their basketball crown."

Edwin Morara, the rugby coach for Kisii School, is also fired-up, out to dethrone the reigning rugby champions, All Saints.

"We faced Vihiga at the East Africa Rugby 7s competition, and they triumphed. Now, its payback time," Morara said confidently. "Our first match against them will be tough, but my boys are ready for the challenge. We lost narrowly to All Saints in last year's group stages, but we’ve worked hard to improve, and this year, they’re on our radar."

The games will kick off with an official opening ceremony at Shanzu Teachers Training College on Tuesday morning, setting the tone for a thrilling week ahead.
