Kericho’s Kiprugut Chumo Stadium unveiled

Kiprugut Chumo Stadium in Kericho has been unveiled today by Sports Cabinet Secretary Ababu Namwamba.

The Stadium, previously named Kericho Green, is being renamed in honour of the legendary athlete who won Kenya its first Olympic medal in the 1964 Tokyo Olympics.

The ceremony that was presided over by Sports CS Ababu Namwamba also saw Athletics Kenya President Jackson Tuwei, the Late Chumo's family, Sports Kenya Chair Peter Njuguna amonst others attending the event.

The renaming was officially announced by H.E. President William Ruto at this years' Mashujaa Day celebrations hosted at the stadium.
