Kenya’s national football team Harambee Stars have moved one place up to position 106 in the latest Fifa rankings published Thursday while their female counterparts, Harambee Starlets, have ceded ground dropping to position 137 from 133.

The Stars are in Group G of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier set for Cameroon.

They have two points from an equal number of games. Other teams in the Pool are Egypt, Togo and Comoros.

There has been little activity from both teams and their counterparts across Africa thanks to Covid-19 that halted global sports.

At the same time Kenyan neighbours, Uganda Cranes, have steadily held onto a top-eighty slot at position 77 in the latest rankings, while Senegal, runners up at last years’ Africa Cup of Nations held in Egypt, are Africa’s top ranked team and number 20 globally.

The Lions of Teranga are followed closely by Tunisia at position two, while Nigeria, Algeria and Morocco follow in that order.

Globally, Belgium tops the rankings as France, Brazil, England and Portugal complete the top five slots.
