KCB comfortable facing Kabras away from home in Kenya Cup final - Amonde
Kabras finished the regular season top of the table giving them the advantage to host the final, but Amonde says they are determined to cause a huge upset against the reigning champions.
“They will have the home support which plays a crucial role in a game like this but we are used to playing in this kind of environment. We have the right mindset to get the victory,” said Amonde.
KCB head into the finals with the aim of reclaiming the title they have lost to Kabras in the last two years, and with a fully fit squad the assistant coach believes they have what it takes to win it.
“We are lucky to have a fully fit squad ahead of the final which is a good thing against a very strong opponent. We have trained well and improved in our areas of weakness having reviewed our season so far, and we are going there with one aim - to reclaim the title,” added Amonde.
In last year’s final, The Millers defeated The Bankers 19-9 but the former Kenya Sevens captain says they have a strategy to avoid a repeat of last year’s defeat.
“We are in the process of a transition and so far we are happy with the way the youthful players are blending with the experienced ones. That is very good when it comes to talent development for the team.
“We are hoping to crown it with victory on Saturday,” the assistant coach told Citizen Digital.
This year’s final will be played at the Kakamega Showground from 3:00pm EAT.
