Kabras RFC head coach Carlos Katywa has labelled their 2024 Enterprise Cup final match against rivals KCB as a tight fixture that they will treat with the seriousness it deserves.

Speaking in an exclusive post-match interview with Citizen Digital, Katywa expressed satisfaction with his side after a convincing 54-08 victory over Nondies in the Enterprise Cup semi-finals played at ASK Kakamega Showgrounds on Saturday.

The win secured Kabras RFC a place in the final, where they will face off against KCB RFC, who thrashed Kenya Harlequins 32-18 in another semi-final played at Ruaraka grounds.

Reflecting on the upcoming challenge, the South African gaffer noted, "It will be a big game. KCB is fortunate to have been playing Enterprise for two games, unlike us who only had the semis. They have a fully fit, fledged side, so it's going to be an interesting one. We have to be smart about how we go about business with them."

"They play high-speed rugby, so we are left to slow it down for them and find ways to minimize their strike ball carriers. Our defence was also found wanting at some stage (against Nondies) and it all goes down to fitness levels not being where we want," he articulated.

The coach emphasized the need for strategic planning and adaptation to counter KCB's style of play.

"They are not playing the same way they were in Kenya Cup; they got some speed and explosion. I don't know what they have been doing differently, and it's scary. Their kicking game seems to be much better as well. For us, we are still working on our fitness level. There is a lot for us to do this week," he vocalized.

With the final match on the horizon, the sugar millers, who secured a three-peat in the Enterprise Cup last season, will now aim to extend their winning streak in the cup competition, having remained unbeaten since their loss to Impala in 2018.
