The event is scheduled to take place from August 6 to 8 this year at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC), Nairobi.
The three-day event, which had initially been planned for July, has now been realigned to August to accommodate a wider audience and enhance participation.
With the theme: “Exploring Career Opportunities in Sports,” the event aims to bring together students, professionals, and stakeholders in a collaborative environment that highlights careers beyond the playing field.
From sports journalism and media, to sports innovation, scholarship opportunities, and even sports law and administration, the symposium is expected to showcase the breadth of professions that exist in today’s expanding sports ecosystem.
According to KAS, this forum is a response to the growing concern over the underutilization of talent and lack of career direction among youth interested in the sports industry.
Participants can expect a rich mix of plenary sessions, networking forums, workshops, and exhibitions.
Among those featured will be universities and colleges, media houses, sports tech companies, sports federations, and international experts. Discussions will also touch on the role of county governments in sports development and the need to integrate sports education into local institutions.
Entry fees for the expo are Ksh. 100 per day for students, Ksh. 300 for adults, and Ksh. 50,000 per booth for exhibitors, while symposium delegates will pay Ksh. 5,000 per day.
The event promises to be a vibrant hub of learning, inspiration, and collaboration, providing attendees with firsthand interaction with sports legends, scholarship providers, and innovators.
This initiative by KAS represents a strategic attempt to unlock Kenya’s sports potential, bridge the knowledge gap, and open doors for thousands of young people eager to pursue rewarding careers within the sports world.
