Kapaito and Sharks demolish Wazito, KCB off the mark

Eric Kapaito scored a brace to lead Kariobangi Sharks’ 4-0 demolition of FKF Premier League rivals Wazito FC at the Kasarani Stadium as Francis Kimanzi’s new managerial chapter got off to a rude start on Sunday.

Wazito trailed 1-0 at the break thanks to Daniel Okari’s opener before a quick-fire brace from Kapaito in the second half gave the hosts a 3-0 advantage. He turned provider for Julius Masaba to complete the rout late on.

KCB FC were 3-0 winners over Posta Rangers earlier at the same venue after goals from Derrick Otanga, Henry Onyango and Enock Agwanda gave the Bankers a dream start to the season.

Nairobi City Stars defeated Nzoia Sugar on their return to the top flight thanks to goals from veteran defender Anthony ‘Muki’ Kimani and Olivier Maloba.

Western Stima and Bidco United produced the only barren draw of the opening week of the new season which finally got underway on Saturday following the Government’s decision to allow the resumption of ‘low risk’ contact sports.
