The National Super League (NSL) side, Nzoia Sugars FC, has made a significant leadership change by appointing Evans Kadenge as the club's new chairman.

Kadenge takes over from Yapets Mokua, who stepped down from the role on September 11, and is clear of the priorities at the club.

Kadenge emphasised that his primary focus is to guide the sugar millers back to the Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKF-PL).

"I'm happy for the appointment. My main goal is to ensure that this club returns to where it belongs – the Premier League. That’s our top priority.

"This journey will however require concerted efforts both on and off the pitch, by all stakeholders," Kadenge said.

Nzoia were relegated from the Premier League last season, despite finishing fourth in the previous campaign. Their relegation was occasioned by mass exodus of their first team players, and coach Salim Babu soon after that impressive run.

"We still face a lot of financial difficulties, and the National Super League is very costly. That is an area we have to address in our journey. Sponsorship will go a long way in helping us achieve our goals and provide better resources for our players and technical staff," explained Kadenge, a former Nzoia Sugar FC Team Manager.

In another strategic move, Nzoia have appointed Charles Odero as the club’s Head Coach. Odero, who has already started training the team, is hopeful of a return to the Premier League.

"I'm ready for my first task against Fortune Sacco. The players are responding well in training, and I believe we can start strongly," Odero said.
