GSU clinch record 16th volleyball title with victory over KPA

GSU men's team powered
past KPA in straight sets to lift their record-extending 16th national
volleyball title on Sunday, at the Kasarani Indoor Gymnasium.
The paramilitary side
showed grit and experience to win 25-19, 25-21, and 25-22 in a tightly
contested final showdown.
GSU came out firing in
the opening set, making their intentions clear from the start as they
controlled the pace and tempo to take it 25-19 against a determined KPA side.
The second set saw a
tighter contest in the early stages, with both sides neck and neck up to 10-10.
GSU then pulled ahead to lead 20-15, but KPA clawed their way back to 21-22.
Still, GSU held their
composure to seal the set 25-21.
In the third set, the
Dockers struggled with their serves, often hitting the net or sending the ball
out of play.
GSU took advantage,
opening a five-point lead at 18-13 and dictating the remainder of the set to
win it 25-22.
The victory handed GSU
their first national title since 2022, a triumphant return to the top after KPA
had forced a decisive match with a 3 -1 win on Saturday.
