Harambee Starlets' Mwanahalima 'Dogo' Adam made her debut for Kansas City Current on Sunday, making history as the first Kenyan player to feature in the National Women's Super League - USA.

She however was not to start on a positive note, as her new team lost 4-1 to Washington Spirit, ending their six-match unbeaten run in the league.

Dogo, 26, was thrown into the fray in the 65th minute, replacing Claire Hutton with the team already down 3-1. Her efforts however did not help Kansas, but was proud to get started at "a dream club."

"I'm very happy to join and play for Kansas City Current because I think it is every player's dream to play at such a level. The league is on, but for me it is the beginning and I will fight to ensure that I give more respect to our Kenyan flag here. I'm happy and I thank God  for this move. I hope it will open doors for more teammates to this side," said Dogo.

Dogo began her professional career with Mombasa Olympic while in high school before signing with former Kenyan Women's Premier League side Thika Queens in 2018. She led the league in goals and her team to an undefeated record in 2021.

Later in 2021, she moved to Turkey and signed with Hakkarigücü Spor to play in the 2021–22 Turkish Super League.

She scored her first professional hat-trick on April 2, 2022 in a 6–0 win over Dudullu, taking her tally on the season to 11 goals in her first 17 games.

Dogo became captain of Hakkarigücü Spor in 2023, where she played until she moved to Kansas.
