Depleted Bandari ‘ready’ for Sofapaka test

Bandari FC coach Ken Odhiambo is targeting a good start to the new season despite the long list of injured players in his squad. The Dockers will miss the services of their lethal striker Johanna Mwita as well as playmaker William Wadri who are among the list of seven injured players. Other players nursing injuries are captain Bernard Odhiambo, Hassan Iddi, Darius Msagha, Benjamin Mosha and goalkeeper Michael Wanyika. “We are ready for the league even though our injury list is big but we don’t depend on a single player,” Odhiambo said. Odhiambo, who is also the Harambee Stars assistant coach says no positive COVID-19 cases were uncovered in the testing conducted on his players and staff. Bandari will play host to Sofapaka at their Mbaraki dockyard on Saturday afternoon in their opening game of the FKF Premier League. The government through the ministry of health has given a green light for the resumption of sports but without fans.
Competitive sport was suspended in the country in March in response to the coronavirus pandemic that has killed 1,427 people in the country to date.
