The Riley Falcon Swing Off golf tournament ended in style at the scenic Nyanza Golf Club in Kisumu, with Dave Karia emerging as the overall winner after scoring an impressive 41 points.

Karia, who battled stiff competition from a field of experienced golfers, credited his victory to staying calm and focused on the fairways that stretch along the shores of Lake Victoria.

“I'm so happy with this win. The course was in great shape but the winds near the lake can be tricky. I kept my head down, played simple shots, and stayed patient. That’s how I did it,” Karia said after being crowned champion.

Albert Ojonyo also scored 41 points to claim the top spot in the men’s category, while Vitalis Asewe followed closely with 39 points to take the men’s runner-up position. Trau Bhayani came in third among the men with 38 points after showing steady play throughout the day.

Among the ladies, Lydia Selestine shone brightest, winning the top prize with 40 points. Lilian Kongani was named the ladies’ runner-up after posting a strong 36 points.

The sponsor’s prize went to Tobias See with 40 points, while Nicholas Okello secured the sponsor runner-up position with 35 points. Victor Kinyaua won the guest prize with a respectable 31 points.

On the tricky par threes, Lydia Selestine showed her precision by winning the nearest to pin award on hole 13. Billy Ouko took home the longest drive for men on hole 12, while Joyce Osike showed power and control to win the longest drive for ladies on the same hole.

In the junior category, Faraja Mulunda made an impressive mark by winning with 42 points, edging out Tony Nyambogo who finished as runner-up with 41 points.

With a beautiful backdrop of Lake Victoria, the Riley Falcon Swing Off once again brought together golf lovers from Kisumu and beyond, turning the Nyanza Golf Club into a hive of excitement and sportsmanship.

For Karia, this win is another reminder of his consistency on the course and his ability to handle the ever-changing winds that make playing golf by the lake a unique challenge.

“Golf is about patience. I trusted my swing and enjoyed every moment. Winning here means a lot to me,” he added with a smile.

The day ended with cheers, laughter, and plans for the next swing off on Kisumu’s fairways.
