Court frees Federico’s passport to enable travel to Rio 2016

The court has on Tuesday released the passport of Rosa Associati director, Federico Rosa to enable him travel to Brazil for the Rio 2016 Olympics.

The passport will however, be released to the Italian athletics agent after producing his return ticket to court.

Kibera Principal Magistrate Bernard Ochoi directed that the passport be returned to court on the August 26.

Federico was charged with doping related charged charges and directed to deposit his passport with court where he was given a personal bond of Ksh500,000 and two Kenyan sureties of similar amount.

The Italian has denied six counts of charges related to doping and ruining the reputations of two Kenyan athletes.

He was accused of conspiring with others to injure the reputations of Elijah Kiprono and Rita Jeptoo by administering prohibited substances.

The case will be heard on the September 5 and 6.
