Coast Region soccer ladies champions Kombani Girls will resume its preparations Monday ahead of their maiden appearance in the term two nationals games scheduled for Kakamega County next month.

Head Coach Mukasa Amboko said they are planning to play two friendlies against teams playing in the division one league as a way of challenging his girls despite their recent success.

"We just need to rectify some few mistakes and play one or two friendlies despite the little time we have before heading to Kakamega," said Amboko.

He added, "It took Kwale Girls four years to reach the nationals [school games] but only a year for these girls meaning they have something special in them,” he explained, expressing his delight at the remarkable feat.

The Kwale County based school defeated Minhaj from Tana River 3-1 in the final to win the ladies title in Voi, Taita Taveta County over the weekend.

Despite losing 0-1 against Mwasere in group stage, Kombani won two other matches before defeating Mkongani 3-0 in the semis.

They have been placed in Pool 'A' in the nationals against Butere Girls of Western, Njabini of Eastern and Dagoretti Mixed from Nairobi.

Amboko led Kwale High to clinch both national and East Africa titles in 2018, will also bank on his experience in the big stage to guide the debutants against heavyweights.
