MOFA FC have announced the departure of head coach Lloyd Wahome after the expiry of his short-term contract. The club confirmed the news in a statement on Tuesday, thanking the tactician for his service.
“We extend our sincere gratitude to Coach Wahome for his
hard work, unwavering dedication, and professionalism during his time at the
club. We wish him all the best as he embarks on the next chapter of his coaching
career,” the club said.
Wahome, who previously served as an assistant coach at
Murang’a Seal FC, returned for his second stint at MOFA in April to take over
as head coach for the remainder of the season,
Wahome was the third coach to lead the NSL side this season
after Alfred Chole who started the season as the head coach resigned earlier in
the season citing unfavorable working conditions, accusing Technical Director
Kevin Aol of interference in technical matters, which made his position
untenable.
After Chole's resignation, MOFA appointed Charles Odera as
their head coach. Odera, who had joined from Nzoia Sugar, was in charge for
just four matches, winning two, drawing one, and losing his final game 2-0 to
Fortune Sacco.
The Homa Bay-based sidemstruggled to replace Kassim Otieno
whom they sacked at the end of the 2023/2024 season after losing 3-0 in the NSL
promotion play-offs against Fortune Sacco.
Harambee Starlets assistant coach Bruno Charles Warinda has
been tipped to take over the role after leaving Kisumu All Stars after two
seasons.
