City Stars’ Sanneh focused on team success
Nairobi City Stars striker Ebrima Sanneh says his only concern is helping the team win games and not individual accolades as he refused to discuss the number of goals he thinks he will score this season.
Sanneh’s season has been hindered by a series of injuries but the Gambian believes he can still offer something to the FKF Premier League side.
City Stars have made a decent start to the campaign on their return to the top-flight and sit tenth on the standings at the mid-way point. The league remains suspended but Sports CS Amina has said resumption is imminent following a nationwide vaccination program for sportspersons.
“I want to thank God I have come back (from injury) and I hope I can open my goal account when the action returns. My aim now is to help the team perform well in the ongoing season. I am not interested in the numbers, my focus is on the entire team,” Sanneh said.
Meanwhile, Gor Mahia midfielder Kennet Muguna has said he will make his next move known after his current contract ends amid reports linking him with Tanzania Mainland Premier League side Azam FC.
Since Muguna was dropped as captain of the local giants, there has been mounting speculation regarding his future at the club. A source close to the player revealed there are numerous offers on his table.
Muguna has been an impressive figure at Gor and has been among key players who have helped them dominate the domestic scene.
