Football Kenya Federation Women's Premier League side Bungoma Queens Club are setting the stage for an ambitious new season by bolstering the squad for a potential title challenge.

Driven by strategic recruitment and regulatory compliance, the club plans to strengthen the playing unit through targeted player recruitment, a key part of preparation to improve on last season's performance.

Speaking to Citizen Digital, club head coach Robert Machio revealed that the side has set eyes on the upcoming season, highlighting the importance of bolstering their squad with fresh talent.

The recruitment drive isn't just limited to seasoned players. The club is also scouting promising high school players, reflecting a long-term strategy to nurture young talent and build a robust team foundation for the future.

"We are planning to recruit players as one of the preparations for the upcoming season. We took advantage of KSSSA regional games where Butere Girls, and Arch Bishop Ngenga were around. We spotted one or two players that we can give a thought about," said Machio.

In addition to player recruitment, Bungoma Queens are also focused on ensuring regulatory compliance. Machio confirmed that the club is in the process of obtaining a registration license as instructed by the Football Kenya Federation (FKF).

"The club is also in the process of obtaining a registration license to improve the league next season. The technical bench and potential partners need to be registered by the federation to avoid future problems," Machio stated.

This step is crucial for the club to participate in the league and aligns with FKF's efforts to enhance the professionalism and standards of football in Kenya.

Bungoma Queens finished last season in sixth place with 19 points. While this was a respectable position, the club is evidently keen on surpassing this achievement in the upcoming season.
