Bungoma Queens head coach Godfrey Mabwa has promised a strong showing from his team when they face Kibera Soccer Women in their Women’s Premier League season opener on Saturday.

Mabwa, who recently took over the reins at the club acknowledged the challenge that Kibera presents, describing them as an experienced side but emphasised that his players are ready to push for a win.

"Kibera is a club with a lot experience at the top level. We know that they will not be an easy team to face, but we have prepared well to push hard for a victory. I believe in the team, and the girls have the spirit to fight," said Mabwa.

As a new coach, the tactician highlighted the potential for growth within Bungoma Queens.

He expressed optimism that, with time, his team would gain momentum in the league. His message to the club’s supporters was clear: patience and unwavering support will be crucial for their success this season.

“I expect that we will build up momentum as the league progresses. The girls are working hard, and we’ve prepared as much as we can. Our fans are vital to us, and I urge them to rally behind the team. Together, we can make a mark in this league,” Mabwa added.

The season opener will take place at the Bungoma National Polytechnic grounds, with the match set to kick off at noon.
