Kisumu RFC have received a timely financial shot in
the arm ahead of the 2025/26 rugby season after unveiling Homeland Itoya Events
as their official sponsor in a deal worth Ksh. 2 million.
The announcement was made on Tuesday afternoon during a colorful ceremony held at The Vic Hotel, Kisumu, marking a new era for the lakeside club.
The sponsorship will go a long way in supporting the club’s
operations, player welfare, logistics, and grassroots development programs as
they gear up for a competitive season.
Alongside Homeland Itoya Events, Urban Radio was
unveiled as the club’s official media partner, while Oraro Advocates also came
on board with a sponsorship package worth Ksh 1 million, further bolstering the
club’s financial stability.
Speaking during the event, Kisumu RFC chairman
Gabriel Ouma hailed the partnership as a “step in the right direction” for the
club’s long-term vision.
“We are extremely delighted to welcome Homeland Itoya Events, Urban Radio, and Oraro Advocates to the Kisumu RFC family.
"This is a
big step in the right direction, and we want to assure our partners that every
single coin will be accounted for,” said Ouma.
The chairman further emphasized the club’s commitment
to transparency and professionalism, noting that the sponsorship deals are a
vote of confidence in Kisumu RFC’s structure and ambitions.
Homeland Itoya Events CEO, speaking on behalf of the company, expressed their excitement in supporting local rugby and pledged continued collaboration with the team.
Urban Radio also affirmed its commitment to giving
the club visibility across various platforms, while Oraro Advocates reiterated
the importance of backing community-based sports initiatives.
The three-way partnership marks a major milestone for Kisumu RFC, who are seeking to raise their profile both on and off the pitch.
With additional resources and a strengthened support base, the club hopes to
improve its performance in national competitions and grow its fan base in the
region.
The club also hinted at unveiling more development
plans in the coming weeks as they seek to host the south leg of the national 7s
circuit, Dala 7s, in September.
