Xiaomi and Polyphony Digital have announced a major collaboration to bring the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra — the company’s flagship electric performance vehicle — to Gran Turismo 7.

Unveiled during Round One of the 2025 Gran Turismo World Series, the announcement marks the first appearance of a Xiaomi model in the acclaimed PlayStation racing simulator.

The SU7 Ultra, known for its cutting-edge electric drivetrain and aggressive track capabilities, will be added to Gran Turismo 7 on both PlayStation 4 and 5.

This move reflects the growing convergence of real-world automotive innovation and virtual motorsport, and highlights Xiaomi’s ambitions as a serious player in the high-performance EV segment.

The partnership was initiated after Gran Turismo creator Kazunori Yamauchi visited Xiaomi’s EV facilities in Beijing and Yizhuang this May.

He test drove the SU7 Ultra and was given an in-depth look at the company’s production capabilities. “Xiaomi has built an extraordinary vehicle,” said Yamauchi. “Its integration of performance, design, and intelligent systems is deeply aligned with the philosophy we pursue at Gran Turismo.”

Powered by Xiaomi’s self-developed HyperEngine V8s tri-motor system, the SU7 Ultra delivers 1,548 PS, reaches a top speed of over 350 km/h, and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 1.98 seconds.

With a lightweight carbon fiber body, advanced torque vectoring, and adaptive damping, the car has been rigorously tested on circuits including the Nürburgring Nordschleife — where it has already set benchmarks for four-door vehicles.

Xiaomi’s EV R&D team, led by Chief Test Driver Zhoucan Ren, continues to conduct development work at the Nürburgring, translating track-proven technologies into production-ready features. “Our work at the circuit is key to refining every aspect of performance, safety, and handling,” said Ren.

Lei Jun, Xiaomi’s Founder and CEO, emphasized the shared vision behind the partnership. “Mr. Yamauchi’s belief in building a better world through technology mirrors our mission,” he said. “Gran Turismo represents excellence and precision — values we pursue in every product we build.”

The SU7 Ultra’s inclusion in Gran Turismo 7 is the result of close co-development between Xiaomi EV and Polyphony Digital, ensuring that the car’s performance and design are authentically recreated in-game.

The two companies also announced plans to collaborate on the upcoming Xiaomi VISION GRAN TURISMO concept — a virtual-only car designed specifically for the franchise.

Founded in 2010, Xiaomi has grown into one of the world’s leading technology companies, with a broad portfolio spanning smartphones, AIoT devices, and now smart vehicles. In 2024, the company completed its “Human × Car × Home” strategy with the launch of the SU7 series, integrating personal technology and mobility into a unified ecosystem.

As of March 2025, Xiaomi supports over 718 million active users and nearly one billion connected devices globally.

Gran Turismo, developed by Polyphony Digital since 1997, is widely regarded as the most authentic driving simulator in gaming. Its long-standing commitment to realism, innovation, and automotive culture makes it an ideal platform for showcasing the next generation of smart vehicles.
