Woman found dead after drinking spree in Baringo

A middle-aged woman was on Thursday found dead at Kipsaraman shopping center in Baringo County after a drinking spree.

Peris Chemweno is said to have been drinking in a nearby bar with friends until late in the night before she finally decided to head home.

Her lifeless body was however only to be found lying on the road the following morning with albeit with no physical injuries.

According to area authorities, a postmortem to ascertain the real cause of her death will however not be carried out due to the present circumstances. She will be buried on Friday.

Saimo Kipsaraman MCA John Aengwo has since called on locals to avoid drinking dens during this coronavirus pandemic period and abide by the government’s directives to stay indoors.
