Webuye: Dismembered body of missing 8-year-old school boy found in pit latrine

The deceased, Peter Barasa, was a Sikimbilo Primary School pupil who went missing last Tuesday after lunch break. 

Linda Nasimiyu, the minor's distraught mother, reported that her son went missing under mysterious circumstances last week.

"Mtoto wangu alipotea Jummanne akitoka shule, kutoka siku hiyo nimefanya juhudi zote za kumtafuta lakini sikumpata," Nasimiyu told Citizen.Digital. 

She told the media that she suspects her lover and former neighbour, who inherited her after her husband died, of committing the heinous crime.

"Huyu mzee alikuja kwa boma yangu kama msaidizi, sikuwa na mtu wa kunisaidia, niliweka huyu mzee kwa nyumba yangu sababu singeweza kulea watoto penge yangu baada ya bwana yangu kuaga 2022," she added. 

She claimed that any attempts to report him to law enforcement officers had failed, and her family was unwilling to assist.

"Alikuwa amejaribu kunidunga na kisu mara tatu, na nikaripoti kwa polisi nikisema kwamba kwa nyumba yangu naishi na hatari," Nasimiyu said. 

According to  Nasimiyu, the murder suspect refused to leave her house, telling her that the day he left, we would leave something for her to remember forever.

In a twist to the macabre story, the suspect accused of murdering the minor was beaten to death by a mob on Monday in Kimilili, where he had fled after allegedly committing the crime.

Bokoli area chief Nathaniel Matete confirmed the incident. 

"Usiku wa leo ndio tumepata ujumbe kuwa kijana amepatikana amekatwa katwa vipande na kutupwa kwa choo," Matete said. 

The area chief said investigations into the incident have already begun.
