Gen Z protesters, who have been on the frontline in anti-Finance Bill demonstrations have vowed not to relent in their push to have tax proposals in the 2024 Bill dropped.

Speaking on Sema na Citizen, the youthful protesters stated that they will not be defeated or deterred. They further added that they have structures in place to ensure that the protests continue.

The activists noted that they do not need to be violent as they are fueled by their brilliant minds and great strategies.

“It is a mind game. We have not told politicians that we need funding. We as Gen Z are well organized and we have social media platforms to greatly help us,” stated William Gacheru, a political activist.

“We are good in socials, we have funds, we have any other means we have telegram, we are communicating. They will not defeat us,” added Gacheru.

Gacheru went on to state that they will not be blind by the amendments made by the government on Tuesday, where some tax proposals were dropped by Kenya Kwanza legislators.

“We are leaving our houses to protest based on our own doing. There is no one influencing us, we are doing it for our future because we are very tired.”
