UoN student murdered, hands doused with acid, body dumped in Mwiki
The family of Mercy Kwamboka, a student at
the University of Nairobi's Chiromo Campus, who was found murdered and her body
dumped in a thicket in Mwiki, is now crying for justice.
Questions have arisen about how the
20-year-old disappeared from her home in Pipeline at 11pm after receiving
a phone call, and was later found dead in Mwiki.
Citizen TV visited the scene where her body
was dumped and spoke to the first witnesses and family members. Her
mother Stella Kerubo lamented how Kwamboka’s body was mutilated and the
hands doused in acid.
"Na walimtesa sana sababu mguu ilikuwa
imevunjwa kama miwa na mikono imemwagiliwa acid," said Kerubo.
The first witness, whose identity is concealed
for his safety, described how he discovered Kwamboka.
"Nilikuja nikapata amelala hapa, hana
trouser but ako tu na nguo ya ndani, kuna simu na nyuma ya simu ilikuwa na 1,000
na blanketi na kiatu moja ya black," said the witness.
It has now emerged that Kwamboka’s kidnappers
intended to kill her, as her phone and money were found at the location where
her body was discovered.
"Unaona hapa ndio alikuwa anajaribu
kuamka atembee but anashindwa, na ni kama kitu ilikuwa imefanyika before aletwe,
na gari ilikuja hapa ikaenda na ikarudi tena," added the witness.
Investigations are ongoing to unravel the
mystery of how Kwamboka was murdered and her body dumped in a thicket in Mwiki,
Nairobi County.
