UDA party makes new appointments ahead of grassroots elections

The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party has made fresh appointments ahead of its upcoming grassroots elections in all counties set to begin this month. 

The electronic election, expected to be free and fair, will run in all counties across the country in four phases; 26 April, 22 June, 10 August, and 24 August.

In a statement issued by UDA Secretary General Cleophas Malalah the National Steering Committee (NSC), officiated by President Willian Ruto on Tuesday appointed Anthony Mwaura as Chairperson of the National Elections Board, and Veronica Kiberenge as Vice Chairperson.

It also appointed five members to the board namely; Lydia Munika, Jimmy Kaingi, Mary Mutinga, Halake Dida, and Linda Kiome.

Joy Mdivo was appointed as the Chairperson and Dr. Adrian Kamotho as the vice-chairperson for the Electoral Disputes Resolution Committee (EDRC).

In the same committee, the party appointed seven members including; Hellen Makone, Yvonne Cherop Kae, Dr. Duncan Ojwang, Dr. Kaberia Isaac, Barbra Japan, Anjichi Joseph, Ziporah Karimi Muiruri

Rebecca Tonkeias was also named head of the Internal Dispute Resolution Committee (IDRC).

The other six appointees in the committee are; Hon. Hassan Omar, Dr. Joshua On’gera, Leah Manyarkiy, Hon. Samuel Kariuki, Bishop Robert Theuri, and Ronald Shako.
