Two suspects were on Thursday charged with breaking into and stealing from a shop belonging to the son of former Director of Criminal Investigations George Kinoti.

The accused, Luis Borura Nyawira Otieno and Stephen Wafula Okoni, are accused of stealing property worth Ksh.1.26 million from the shop located on Biashara Street in the Nairobi CBD.

They allegedly broke into the shop belonging to Anthony Mwendwa Kinoti on April 1, 2024.

The stolen equipment, according to the charge sheet, included nine PlayStation 5, two PlayStation 4, twenty Play Station pads and 35 gaming disks.

The accused pleaded not guilty before Magistrate Robinson Ondieki, who said he will deliver a ruling on whether to release the suspects on bail on Friday.

The prosecution on its part said they needed more time to compile the list of the items stolen.

The complainant, through his lawyer Danstan Omari, said they will be opposing the release of the suspects on bail.
