Trouble for Governor Wamatangi as Kiambu MCAs storm his office
The MCAs stormed his office early Monday demanding that he speeds up the disbursement of bursaries to them for forward transmission to needy cases in their wards.
The MCAs also accuse the first-time governor of misusing his office to benefit his foundation.
The couny legislators both from the majority and minority sides of the House, camped outside his office Monday morning, seeking his audience over what they say are major issues touching on the welfare and well-being of the residents of the county.
“We have Ksh.100 million for bursaries, millions to construct roads but if you look at our wards, no roads are being constructed. When it comes to bursaries, as we speak bursary committees have been disbanded,” said the MCAs
The MCAs accuse the governor of sidelining them in the plans to disburse bursaries by forming bursary committees at ward level without their knowledge or involvement.
“Tunaambiwa tutapata shillingi elfu hamsini tugawe elfu 5 kwa watu kumi, niko na watu elfu arobainne, nitapea nani niwache nani,” said Kahawa Sukari MCA Kennedy Odhiambo.
They further accuse him of plotting to distribute the county's bursaries through his own foundation, as well as ignoring their pleas for his facilitation for them to implement development projects in their respective wards.
The MCAs now want the governor to declare whether he will listen to their grievances or whether they will have to take more drastic measures to get his attention.
