Three suspected drug traffickers arrested in Murang’a, 15 sacks of bhang seized

Detectives in Murang’a County have arrested three men in possession of 15 sacks of Marijuana.

The trio, Caleb Nisa Ochieng 38, Nisa Gordon 32, and Peter Karanu 39 were nabbed at Destiny Bar and Restaurant in Kandara area.

According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), Transnational Organized Crime Unit (TOCU) detectives had been trailing the suspects before they pounced on them at the entertainment joint.

 “In a meticulously planned operation, detectives from the Transnational Organized Crime Unit (TOCU) swiftly descended upon Kandara area in Murang’a County, apprehending three notorious drug traffickers and seizing fifteen sacks of marijuana,” DCI stated.

“The trio were caught red-handed at Destiny Bar and Restaurant, thanks to the detectives’ well-coordinated efforts.”

During the operation, the DCI says that a vehicle of Toyota Avensis model and a motorcycle were impounded with other personal documents recovered in the raid being secured as exhibits.

“A Toyota Avensis with registration number KBT 236G was impounded during the raid. A thorough search of the vehicle uncovered a hidden stash of cannabis and personal documents,” DCI noted.

“A motorcycle with the registration number KMFX 568U believed to be the traffickers’ preferred mode of transport for swift deliveries, was also recovered.”

The suspects have since been detained at Muthaiga Police Station awaiting arraignment.
