They are, arguably, more capable of bridging the generations before and after their own, while also challenging the status quo.
Here are some of the world's youngest leaders:

3. Premier Sanna Marin, 36 years. Finland's president. She got the top job in 2019 aged 34.
4. Kim Jong-un, 38 years. Supreme Leader of North Korea. He has been Supreme Leader of North Korea since 2011 and the leader of the Workers' Party of Korea since 2012. He is a son of Kim Jong-il, who was North Korea's second supreme leader from 1994 to 2011.
5. Mahamat Déby, 38 years. Chad Preisdent. Also known as Mahamat Kaka, took over leadership from late Chadian President Idriss Déby, his father, in 2021.
6. Vjosa Osmani, 38 years. Kosovo's president. She was recently elected into the position in April aged 38. Kosovo is a partially recognized state in Southeast Europe.
7. Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, 38 years. Georgia's PM. He took power in February.
8. President Nayib Bukele, 40 years. He leads El Salvador having been elected at 37. El Salvador is a country in Central America. It is bordered on the northeast by Honduras, on the northwest by Guatemala.
9. Xavier Espot Zamora, 42 years. He is Andorra's president. He became the head of government of the small territory between France and Spain in May 2019 aged 39.
10. Carlos Alvarado , 42 years. Costa Rica's president. Formerly a journalist and labour minister, he won elections to become president in May 2018 at 38.
