The inaugural Thamani Awards 2025 have unveiled a stellar list of nominees, spotlighting women who have made significant contributions across media, business, entertainment, and social impact spaces.
The awards seek to
honour and recognize exceptional Kenyan mothers and women who continue to shape
the country’s cultural, economic and leadership landscape.
Topping the list
is the Media Personality of the Year category, featuring celebrated names in
journalism and broadcast.
The nominees
include Citizen TV news anchors Lulu Hassan and Yvonne Okwara, as well as Massawe
Japanni, Victoria Rubadiri, Frida Mwaka, and Nzula Makosi - women whose
commanding presence in media has earned them admiration and trust across the
nation.
In a unique
category celebrating platforms that resonate most with mothers, Citizen TV, Classic
105, Radio Jambo, Radio 47, NTV, and K24 are competing for the Best Mothers
Station title, a recognition of content that informs, empowers and supports
Kenyan mothers daily.
The entertainment
industry is also well represented in the Entertainer of the Year category,
where fan favourites such as Awinja, DJ Pierra, Nadia Mukami, Diana Bahati,
Mammito, and Femi One are nominated for their excellence in delivering quality
entertainment while embodying the spirit of modern motherhood.
Other prominent
categories include Super Influencer East Africa, featuring continental figures
like Hamisa Mobetto, Wema Sepetu, Zari Hassan, and Kenya’s own Sarah Hassan;
and Best Executive 2025, where top industry leaders such as Rebecca Mbithi
(Family Bank), Sylvia Mulinge (MTN Uganda) and Rita Kavashe (Isuzu Motors) are
recognized for their leadership and impact.
The awards also
highlight impactful work in digital innovation, social influence, fashion,
environmental advocacy, education, and community development, with categories
like Best Digital Credit Provider, Best Social Media Impact, Outstanding
Educationalist, and Most Outstanding Community Leader drawing widespread
attention.
Celebrating
motherhood remains at the heart of the Thamani Awards. Categories such as Super
Mum 2025, Best Mother's Initiative, and Best Mother's Product pay tribute to
the strength, resilience and innovation of Kenyan mothers both at home and in
the public space.
