Detectives based at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) have arraigned Jean Emmanuel Morlon, a suspect accused of engaging in gold scamming activities, to answer to multiple charges involving fraud.

Morlon, also known as Lamarca J. Benjamin, has been in police custody since February 4, 2025, for allegedly scamming Ksh.15.5 million from two businessmen, a Romanian and a Swiss national, in a gold scheme.

Morlon pleaded not guilty to all charges in front of the Senior Principal Magistrate at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) Law Court.

The prosecution asked the Magistrate to detain the suspect, citing concerns about his potential flight risk.

Heeding the plea, the Senior Magistrate ordered the suspect to be remanded at Industrial Area Remand Prison.

The case is scheduled for a mention on March 3, 2025.
