Supreme Court orders vote scrutiny and recount in 15 polling stations

Supreme Court Judges during the Pre-Trial Conference on Tuesday.

Ballot boxes for 15 polling stations will be opened for inspection, scrutiny and recount.

The Supreme Court ordered that the exercise be conducted within 48 hours starting 2:00 pm today.

The ballot boxes are for the following polling stations: Nandi Hills and Sinendeti Primary Schools in Nandi, Belgut, Kapsuser and Cheptukum Primary Schools in Kericho and Jomvi, Mikindani and Ministry of Water Tanks polling stations in Mombasa.

Others are Mvita, Majengo and Mvita Primary Schools in Mombasa; Tinderet CONMO in Nandi County; and Jarok, Gathanji and Kiheo Primary school polling stations in Nyandarua.

During the vote recount, each party shall be represented by two agents and the Registrar of the Supreme Court will supervise the exercise. 

Copies of Forms 32A and 34C used in the 15 contested polling stations will also be provided by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).
