'Stop telling lies!' Sifuna fires at Hussein Mohamed over summoning of ODM members
This is after Mohamed disputed a published report on Wednesday which noted that ODM leader Raila Odinga ducked a meeting with President William Ruto.
Mohamed termed the report as "misleading and irresponsible" and the publisher should have sought for the information through formal channels.
Speaking on Thursday, Senator Sifuna argued that Mohamed was giving a false account and that he has receipts to prove that ODM members were called to attend the meeting.
"The people at State House like Hussein Mohammed who was trying to be clever yesterday. He is lying. State House called members of ODM to go to State House. He knows it, the invitations are here," he said speaking on Citizen TV.
"We want to call out people like Hussein Mohammed. You and me have known each other for a long time I am not that young man you were harassing on Citizen so don't tell lies."
The legislator questioned the irregular channels that are being used by members in government to invite ODM members to meetings at State House, arguing that it is not provided for in law.
"You cannot be summoning me to State House as who? You do not have those powers constitutionally," he said.
"As far as the political parties act is concerned like my party leader cannot summon members of Ruku's party to come to Capital Hill, under which powers."
The firebrand further maintained that the ODM party remains in the opposition and has no partnership with the government as has been rumoured by certain political leaders.
He asserted that the move by President Ruto to award ODM members Opiyon Wandayi, Wycliffe Oparanya and Hassan Joho with Cabinet Secretary positions in government does not represent the political stand of the party.
