President William Ruto has challenged opposition leader Raila Odinga to face him directly instead of taking protests to the streets and affecting the lives of ordinary citizens.

Speaking in Kisii County on Friday, the President took a swipe at the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Coalition Party Leader saying he (Ruto) is the one who trounced him in the August 2022 General Election hence Odinga should not divert his frustrations at Kenyans by planning countrywide demonstrations.

He went bare knuckle on the Azimio chief daring him to face him head-on.

“Mwenye kushindana na Raila si ni mimi? Badala ya kuniface mimi ameeda kusumbua raia…wacha kusumbua mama mboga. Conductors , boda boda, mama mboga and business people did not work on Monday because of Odinga,” the president said.

“What are you asking the mama mbogas? I am the one who defeated you. If you have problems, face me and leave the ordinary citizens out of it.”

The Head of State reiterated that he indeed won the elections and that Odinga was just in denial.

Ruto thus urged the Kenyans not to take part in demos which the Azimio coalition has scheduled for Mondays and Thursdays from next week.

“Nilimshinda, na sio siri. I announced before the elections that I would defeat him very early in the morning. Sasa si mimi ndio nilimnyorosha? Anaulizana nini na wananchi wa kawaida? If he has a problem, Tell him he ran against William Ruto, aka Hustler and he should look for me,” he stated.

At the same time, the president bluffed at the rallies by Azimio terming them inconsequential to the current state of the economy.

“They are saying that the only way to reduce the cost of living is putting on sufurias and going for protests. If you put on a sufuria, will you lower the price of unga? We must help our farmers to produce more food so that we develop our economy,” stated Ruto.

“Stop disturbing touts, mama mbogas stop the arrogance and the contempt for ordinary people. What are you asking them, I am the one you ran against, if you have an issue, face me.”
