Six killed after a lorry and private car collide on Kericho-Nakuru highway

According to the regional traffic commandant, Dorothy Muleke, the driver of the private vehicle was overtaking a fleet of vehicles and got into a head-on collision with the lorry. 

Six passengers in the private vehicle--a Toyota Probox-- died on the spot while one was rushed to hospital in critical condition. 

The private car was headed to Kericho during the accident while the lorry was headed in a different direction. 

Several other people are said to have sustained varying degrees of injuries in the crash and are being treated in various hospitals in Kericho town.
